The history of Racing de León is a story full of anecdotes and activities that have been an amalgam to be able to unite our sports activity to build a social activity for more than twenty years.
The club as such begins to have activity in the 1998-1999 season in which it participates for the first time in the competition within the Fundiny League, a non-federative league in which numerous companies and futsal fans participated in an amateur way. .
In this first year of participation they managed to win the League and the Cup, revalidating the two titles in the following campaign.
During the 2001-2002 and 2002-2003 seasons there was a union with the La Palomera Futsal Club, maintaining participation both in the Fundiny League and in the Federated competition within the Asolefusa League. This collaboration lasted two seasons and then each of the entities followed different paths.
Within the Fundiny League, many changes occurred at the level of participants, it came to have a first and a second and a competitive format, starting with a regular league competition and reaching a champion format phase with the top four classified. The name of the competition was also changed from Liga Fundiny to Liga Euromotor and later Liga Afileón.
Our participation in this competition lasted until the 2017-2018 season, winning the championship six times (1998-1999; 1999-2000; 2010-2011; 2012-2013; 2014-2015 and 2017-2018). Regarding the cup, the title was won in the 1999-2000 seasons; 2000-2001 and 2017-2018, it is noteworthy that the cup competition was not always maintained in the competition period, it was possible to compete for the two titles due to the competition system of the different seasons.
From these six championships achieved, the reference is taken to include in our shield six five-pointed yellow stars that surround the shield in its current confection.
During this period, they have also been participating in other types of amateur competitions, such as the Luis Flores Memorial, played at the La Palomera swimming pool facilities, where they won a league and a cup and later in the Friends of Football League. Room, disputed in the municipal facilities of the Puente Castro neighborhood. In the latter, a League and a Cup were also achieved.
In the 2018-2019 season, with the arrival of the new Sports Law, the Club decides to participate in Leagues with legal coverage regarding participation with a federated record that has health insurance in case of a possible accident.
With all this, we participated in the ASOLEFUSA League, finishing in fifth position and, in relation to the competition of the Virgen del Camino Town Hall, promotion from second to first division was achieved, falling in the play-off phase in the quarterfinals.
In the developing season, participation in the two competitions is maintained, waiting for the authorities to determine what happens with the current competitions.
It has also participated in numerous tournaments throughout the province and even with participation in others such as Asturias where it has participated in two Futsal tournaments and even as an experience in one of Beach Soccer.
Due to the number of participations, we will highlight the Navatejera and Villaquilambre City Council tournaments where in their different formats we have achieved third place as the best classification. A runner-up in the Vegacervera City Council tournament and another in the Quintana de Rueda City Council tournament. It has also participated in many others such as Sariegos, Mayorga (Valladolid), Villacelama, La Magdalena and a long etcetera of competitions throughout the Club's history.
We also value the Vegas del Condado City Hall Tournament where the final was won in 2010 and the La Virgen del Camino City Hall Tournament where the tournament was also won in 2018.
In summary, a long life for a Club that is heading towards its twenty-fifth anniversary, which will be celebrated in the year 2023, and whose main objective is the social coexistence of a group of people who use sporting activity as a basis for uniting something more than just friends.
After a general balance of what has been achieved and what has been experienced throughout the history of our Club, we find ourselves stronger than ever to be able to continue with this great project. The youngest members who contribute knowledge about new technologies and diffusion in social networks and the most veteran ones contribute experience and reflection in the face of the new challenges that we face.
